Not exactly candy, as you use a bit of pastry of some sort, but the recipe calls for chocolate and is easy to make, bite-sized and delicious.
Ingredients:
1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough, thawed (you can substitute pie crust or cookie dough if you prefer) 1 cup melted chocolate 2 ripe bananas 1 can sweetened condensed milk
The first thing you'll want to do is make the base, because it needs to bake and cool before you can add anything else to it.
So take your sheet of puff pastry (or pie dough or cookie dough) and use a small (no bigger than 2" diameter) round cookie cutter to cut out about 15 rounds. Place them on a greased cookie sheet about an inch apart and bake according to the package directions. Set them aside to cool.
Now you've got to make the dulce de leche, which is turning that can of sweetened condensed milk into a beautiful caramel.
There are a couple of different ways to do this. You can place them in an oven-proof baking dish, cover tightly with foil, and then place the dish in a larger pan, filling the pan about halfway up the sides of the baking dish with water. Then place in the oven and bake at 425 degrees for about 90 minutes, adding more water as needed, until the milk has turned brown.
